Our customer, MEN Mikro Elektronik is a supplier of computer systems for industrial and embedded applications, controls, test and measurement, data acquisition, instrumentation, etc. Its M-Modules product group consists of PC cards for data acquisition and measurement. Three of them are: - M56 16-Channel Analog Multiplexer module, - M68 function generator module, and - M76 System Multimeter

Our task was to develop IVI compliant instrument driver interfaces for these devices. IVI compliant drivers are specified by the IVI Foundation member companies. Their goal is, among others, to fit third party hardware into National Instruments's LabView and LabCWI applications.

The IVI drivers for MEN's M56, M68 and M76 modules were developed using the National Instruments's Measurement Studio software. To test the new drivers, LabView CVI test applications were written. The picture on the right is a screen shot of the M68 Function Generator application.
